Hey, I'm glad that you actually have an opinion. Care to say why not? (To be honest, I don't see what their relationship is based on. The game did kind of just threw them together).

Yeah, I should explain. Would be nice. :V Well off the top of my head:

1. As you said, the game just threw them together. I only take a romance seriously when it's a play on personality, on connection and communication, how they benefit each other and help - hence the 'love' part. When it's not a matter of how well they work together or even need each other in some cases, and instead is centered on how well they look, then it's not love; it's eroticism, obsession, which is far too often confused with love. For example, Twili--*shot*

2. To run the risk of contradicting myself on the upper point, they don't actually physically look that good together to me. But that's just me.

3. Even considering how nice he is and can be, Eagle's still rather cocky. Sarumarine covered this best in some of his Totally Flaked! strips. Sami doesn't do much, if anything, to bring him down to earth in my view. I see more dysfunction than function in Eagle's case with anyone outside Green Earth.


Then again, this is coming from a guy who thinks Sami works well with Andy. :V

Actually, I think they do work well together. The game's done almost all they can with "personality, connection and communication" in their relationship, at least for a war strategy game. I'm ranting about it on AWN now... Probably not a good idea!

Yeah, but I'm sure I don't like them just because of how well they look, especially since the game doesn't even have one proper picture of the two of them together (probably to your relief, haha). I haven't read Twilight, but my 12-year-old sister likes to tell me it really "isn't that good", while being obsessed with it at the same time. I'm not really into vampires.

As much as I love how Totally Flaked! pokes fun at Eagle's "cockiness", he really isn't that bad in the campaign. It's just with Jess. He knows his limits. Sami does admire him, but I'm sure she can keep him in check. Remember the "Hey, I'm a CO too! Don't be a jerk!" quote?

Sami and Andy? I suppose he would be old enough in AW DS. "Working together well and needing each other" isn't all what love is about either. It's just a strong friendship, which might turn into love. Here's a fan art I found anyway. [link]
